about the authors
Dr. Beebe is the author and co–author of eleven books and several book chapters, and has published in numerous national and international communication journals. He has also made more than 100 presentations at regional, national, and international conferences. He has been a visiting scholar at both Oxford and Cambridge universities and is a member of the Common Room of Wolfson College, Oxford University. Dr. Beebe teaches a course about C. S. Lewis and Communication at Oxford University. He was named Outstanding Communication Professor in America by the National Speakers Association, and has received the President’s Award for Excellence in Research and the President’s Award for Excellence in Service at Texas State. Dr. Beebe serves as the department’s chair and is Associate Dean of the School of Fine Arts and Communication. He has also been designated a Regents Professor by The Texas State University System Board of Regents.
Terri Geerinck is a faculty member in the Interdisciplinary Studies Centre at Sir Sandford Fleming College. She teaches several courses including Introductory Psychology, Social Psychology, and Interpersonal and Group Dynamics. As part of a team, she has also delivered human relations training to business and industry with a particular emphasis on problem solving, interpersonal communication skills, and conflict management. Her teaching interests are instructional design, methodology, prior learning assessment, and course conversion to web–based formats. Before teaching at Sir Sandford Fleming, she held various consulting positions in several communities in Ontario. Terri Geerinck’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and sociology from Brock University and a master's degree in education from Central Michigan University.
