Technical Communication, 2/C/E
- WELCOME

This site has been designed to complement the Second Canadian Edition of Technical Communication, by Don Klepp and John Lannon. The site includes:

  • Technical writing examples: a user's manual; a process description report; a feasibility report; a report writing sequence - a proposal for a researched analytical report, a progress report, and the formal analytical report

  • Writing exercises: the Chapter 11 exercises; editing a "foggy" letter; analyzing paragraphs

  • WebConnections: this site has over 100 links to other useful Web sites, listed chapter by chapter

  • On-line Instructor's Manual: this part of the site is reserved for instructors who have adopted Technical Communication. Admission to the Instructor's Manual requires the visitor to use a password, which will be issued through Pearson Education Canada campus representatives. This on-line manual re-creates part of the paper version of the manual, which includes all the material found at this site, plus much more.

    The Manual includes:
    1. chapter quizzes
    2. answers for the Chapter 11 exercises, the letter editing exercise, the paragraph analysis exercise, and the chapter quizzes
    3. sample exams
    4. overhead transparency masters
    5. additional exercises and class activities
    6. a set of instructions
    7. assignment evaluation forms
    8. oral report topics

I will continue to add to this site and to make Technical Communication the most comprehensive, practical, and readable technical writing text available for Canadian technical writers. If you have ideas for improving future editions of the book or suggestions for improving this Web site, please e-mail me at dklepp@shaw.ca

Sincerely,

Don Klepp
