About the Authors
Annice Blair has taught for many years, most recently at Dunbarton High School, where she considers her students her most valued critics. She is the author of the new guidelines for Ontario's High School Law courses. Annice has also written curriculum for the Durham Board of Education, a labour studies document for the CAW/Durham Board, and a guide to teaching labour studies that was published in Forum, the magazine for teachers. She was the lead writer for Ontario's new Workplace Law Profiles. Annice has presented many workshops on law for the Ontario History and Social Science Teacher's Association (OHASSTA) and the Ontario Business Teachers' Association (OBEA).
Bill Costiniuk has taught Law at Timmins High & Vocational School for the past 25 years, during which time he has also been a curriculum writer and presenter at numerous workshops. Bill is an innovative teacher who has won several awards including the Marshall McLuhan Distinguished Teacher Award, the Canadian Teachers' Federation Roy C. Hill Award, the Prime Minister's Award for Teaching Excellence, and the Robert Hillmer Award for the most outstanding Business Teacher.
Larry O'Malley has taught Law for 12 years. He currently teaches at Iona Catholic Secondary School in Mississauga. Larry is the Former President of the Toronto History and Social Studies Teachers' Association, a current Member of the OHASSTA Executive, and was a participant in the Montreal Institute's "Institute for the Teaching of Canadian History" (2001).
Alan Wasserman teaches at Thornhill Secondary School. He has been actively involved in professional development through his activities on OSSTF's Provincial Educational Services Committee. Serving as Regional Coordinator on this committee, Alan has assisted teachers across Southern Ontario to plan professional development programs and has served as lead facilitator for the Ontario Teacher's Federation Summer Institutes, advising teachers on the implementation of new curriculum. Alan is co-author of the OSSTF resource Coping with the New Curriculum and co-author of the student text Exploring Business in the 20th Century. He is also author of the Teacher Resource for Exploring Business in the 20th Century.
